OBSERVATION DISTILLED.

I work at an intersection of drawing and printmaking.
Everything, interior and external, is fodder.
Like solving a puzzle, filtering concept, aesthetic, craft and intuition is seductive and absorbing.


About Nancy Cusack

ABOUT

After graduating from Boston College, A.B. Sociology, attended School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Rhode Island School of Design, undergraduate and graduate; the Institute for Art and Human Development, Lesley University, with a Master Degree in Expressive Therapies; Middelloo Institute program, Creative Therapies, Amersfoort, Netherlands. Awarded professional registration, A.T.R., from American Art Therapy Association; later earned the Certificate in Interior Design, Commonwealth of MA, Massasoit College, to continue design and consulting on interior environments specific to health and well-being.

November 2016, awarded Professor Emerita, The Massachusetts College of Art and Design, continuing to teach fall semesters until the pandemic. Established and chaired the Studio Foundation Department, later directing the studio drawing program. Nancy enjoyed teaching full time in both studio and academic areas, undergraduate and graduate. In Mexico, she initiated an art and design study program, co-designing and teaching a curriculum in Oaxaca and Puebla. 

Nancy has curated, juried, and organized multiple exhibitions and has lectured widely. Her work is held in private and institutional collections and exhibited in the US and internationally. A passionate traveler, she continues to organize fascinating trips for small groups, often as fund raisers for cultural organizations.

Visitors are warmly welcome to visit her studio in downtown Sarasota
